Verified Purchase. After reading all the negative comments about this I was very worried that it would not work with my old Sony Camcorder Hi8 tapes and my newer computer with Windows I downloaded software - already had the proper free pinnacle studio 16 ultimate free.

To be honest the 'newer' Dazzle video capturing devices are just re-distributed hardware and software from when they first hit the market. The claims on the box and descriptions of this product are very miss leading. It will not improve the quality of any video being captured. The best settings do not help in the slightest to improve video quality and frame drop is a problem.

I installed this product on Windows 10 and from the start it dropped frames like crazy. I was getting over 50 dropped frames in a 15 second video recording which means that playback was jerky and uncomfortable to watch. When installed on a Windows 7 PC it worked just fine.
I found the same with all the Pinnacle softwares I tried Studio 18 to 24 and Pinnacle were unable to offer any kind of fix that would cure the problem. One person found this helpful. This was a terrible buy. Did not work and even Amazon did not want it back. I was refunded after chatting to a person on the phone. There is another version of this available that is white.
I have one of those and it works perfectly. But stay clear of this particular one. Unfortunately this product didn't work with Windows 10, returned with full refund.
